Growing a Farmer: Post 1

My impression of this book so far is just average. Trimmermeister definitely has a simple writing style which makes the book an enjoyable and simple read. Everything was easy to comprehend making it a fast read. However, I definitely feel like one of his downfalls is the fact that he finds it necessary to tell his story step-by-step. There were times when I was reading and I found certain paragraphs or sentences unnecessary. Because of this, I find the book kind of slow paced and unexciting to read at times, which made it difficult to stay focused.


While reading, I found myself intrigued by Trimmermeister and his perseverance. It’s great that he doesn’t sugarcoat the difficulties in starting up a business and highlights to his readers that the road to success is full of unanticipated obstacles and challenges. I found it admirable that he was taking steps to really educate himself throughout the process of starting the farm. The fact that he was reading books to learn how to manage parts of a farm demonstrates to me his determination to make the farm work. Though he endured many troubles, it was inspiring to see his continual willingness to sacrifice and do things out of his comfort zone. Also, it was interesting to see how much he grew as a person just within the first half of the book. It is evident that he is making strides towards discovering who he is and how he wants his life to be ran.

An organization targeted to aid those who have escaped human trafficking a way out by offering a safe space for them to stay temporarily until they learn the necessary skill sets to take on the world. We will achieve this by offering bed spaces as well as educational classes in their desired work field and group or individual therapy sessions. In addition to that, the organization will also focus on educating the public on the harsh realities of human trafficking and suggest ways to help those affected. Human trafficking is a huge issue in the world today and is a form of modern-day slavery. Those who get human trafficked do not do it by choice, yet suffer the consequences from it. A World We Dare to Imagine

Human trafficking still continues to be a problem in the world, most prominently in countries like Russia, China, and Iran. The notion of human trafficking is extremely degrading to both men and women who experience it—human trafficking not only harms them physically but also mentally in the long run. It is basically modern day slavery. Often times, the people that are held captive for an extended amount of time lose the ability to grow as a person and achieve the credentials to obtain a decent paying job and a stable life. So the people that do manage to escape the harsh realities of their life experience even harder realities as they struggle to make a comfortable living.
