Growing a Farmer: Post 2
Overall, I really enjoyed the story that Timmermeister told. I appreciate that he told the raw and honest truth of the troubles he encountered and how he overcame them. He also did a great job explaining the processes he went through and the steps he took to make the farm succeed. His way of describing the various topics helped me visualize and learn about all the aspects of the farm. Although I enjoyed how descriptive he was, at times I found it a little mundane and too in-depth. There were some parts I felt like he could have condensed. All in all, I admire him for pushing through all the hardships and not letting failure defeat him. It takes a lot of courage to leave the city and pursue a life in farming. The chapter I liked reading most was The Table. I love how he ends the book by describing how his farm is 20 years later. To me it just emphasizes the idea that hard work pays off.
